Spring Search

Keep a watchful eye

ADDED March 08, 2010

Spring is the transition season between winter and summer.  It is a time when everything grows, birds sing, and all is renewed. And it is almost here.

The first day of Spring this year is March 20. With the amount of inclement weather we have received this year, we hope it might come sooner.  So at my house, we are keeping a daily look-out for Spring's arrival.  We are forming a "Spring Search," if you will.  Every day when we walk the dog, my kids and I are on constant look-out for signs of new growth.

Today take a walk with your kids and have them keep their eyes peeled for new growth on plants, flowers, and trees.  Have them listen carefully for the gentle chirps of baby birds.  And most of all, just enjoy the sun on your faces.  (Unless there's more inclement weather.) Have fun!

Awesome! The changing of the seasons is an amazing time. I think that kids\' learning about the rhythms of the earth can really help them to understand the whole big picture. It\'s great to get them outside, too. Thanks for doing what you\'re doing.
