10 Minutes of Admiration

Sit back and enjoy the feeling

Most people have a Christmas tree in their home this time of year.  If you have a real tree, I am sure it smells
great and reminds you of Christmas every time you enter the house.  But short of decorating your tree, how often do you just sit and admire it?  Sure, it might get a glance or momentary pause, but other than on Christmas morning, it might feel a little lonely.  We are here to help your tree — and settle your kids down before bedtime.   [more]

Tonight, before sending your kids off to bed why not have ten minutes of admiration for your Christmas tree?  Together as a family, look your tree over and talk about what you see.  What ornaments are each person's favorite?  If your tree had a name what would it be?  What lights look best: multi-colored or white?  How many round ornaments do you have?  Are any ornaments nutcrackers?  (I am slightly scared of nutcrackers.)

Then, when everyone is sufficiently settled down and your tree feels admired, send your kids off to bed.  Once everyone is tucked in for the night, get out the mistletoe and let the admiration continue!
